Supporting children back into the classroom
Primary Sports Development work closely with schools to help pupils re-engage in the school classroom as we understand the importance of every child's education . At our Alternative Provision (AP) we use different types of sports to help the pupils change the attitude towards school and their school work. We at Primary Sports Development understand children can struggle to complete lessons in the classroom environment so we adapt all of our sessions to enable better learning environments. We have already successfully helped multiple pupils back into full time education using this approach.

what we do
We work closely with schools across Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire, delivering a range of sporting activities, including helping pupils school attendance, after school clubs, holiday clubs, sports days and PE lessons.
We believe children should lead a healthy, active lifestyle and we understand the benefits socialising and communicating with friends and team mates can have on children. It is our priority that children feel safe and comfortable with their surroundings and they must have fun!
DEVELOPING CHILDREN'S
|
Enabling children the confidence to try and give something a try. Even if it doesn’t go 100% right they can recognise this and know sport is a safe place to make change the next time and go on to improve with practice. To make a mistake, recognise it and learn from it is a key life skill we support through sport and coaching.

"We love going to Badminton with Coach Andy. It's lots of fun, and we really enjoy it! Even if it's been a bad day at school, Coach Andy always cheers us up."

"Andy is a superb ambassador for sport and encouraging children to want to take part in sport and to want to compete. He is very gentle in his approach and his positive demeanour makes the children lose any anxiety and look forward to learning a variety of sports under an organised structure. He particularly work’s on building the children’s confidence, which allows all the children to participate, including behavioural, injured and ones that have previously been reluctant to take part in sport. Inclusion is extremely important to Andy; he understands that children will make mistakes, but they are not criticized for this but encouraged to learn from them. He tries to make each lesson fun so the children can learn with smiles on their faces and he aims to keep them engaged every lesson. Andy believes that every child is different and finding the way to communicate with them is a particular strength of his. I would recommend him without reservation to teach sports to children in your school."
